Fine for passing on 'green': drivers may face fines or lose their license.

Fines for driving on 'green': a warning for drivers
Ukrainian drivers are warned about fines for driving on 'green'. At busy intersections with traffic lights equipped with additional sections, many drivers make the mistake of believing that a regular green signal allows movement in all directions. However, this notion is incorrect and can lead to traffic violations and fines.
At busy intersections with traffic lights equipped with additional sections, many drivers make the same mistake. They believe that a regular green signal allows movement in all directions, but this is false. Such confidence can result in traffic violations and fines.
An inspector explained that if the traffic light is equipped with an additional section with an arrow, turning in the indicated direction is only possible when it is activated. The main green signal only allows movement straight or in other permitted directions, but not in the direction controlled by the additional section. Turning when the arrow is off is equivalent to passing on a red signal.
The penalty for violation is 510 hryvnias according to Article 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. If such a maneuver leads to the creation of an emergency situation, the penalty can be increased to 1445 hryvnias, and the driver may be deprived of rights for up to one year.
It is important to remember that when the arrow is off, pedestrians have the right of way, so unauthorized turning violates the rules and poses a threat to people at the crossing.
It should be noted that Ukrainians can receive fines from the TCC even abroad.
Warnings about traffic rules at intersections are extremely important, as complying with the requirements helps avoid accidents and ensures the safety of road traffic for all participants. Follow the rules and be attentive on the road!
