The agreement with the IMF regarding the increase in gas and electricity tariffs requires Ukraine to raise prices for the population to the corresponding market level after the end of martial law. Experts predict that this may lead to a gradual increase in prices over a period of three to five years. It is also stipulated that the most vulnerable households will be protected through a review of subsidies. The memorandum also provides consumers with the opportunity to choose their gas and electricity supplier.According to the agreement, the liberalization of the gas and electricity market will support high standards and create competitive conditions in the energy market, which could positively affect the efficiency of this sector in the future.
