Enriched by purchases for the military: Two Odessa City Council officials under suspicion.

Odessa officials abused budget funds for military procurement
A scheme of embezzling budget funds allocated for Ukrainian military procurement was uncovered among officials of the Odessa City Council. This was reported by the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation established that the head of one of the departments of the Odessa City Council and his deputy embezzled funds intended for the implementation of the program for providing technical means and volunteer formations of Odessa. According to the requests of military units, they purchased tactical clothing and armor plates from enterprises, but at twice the market price. Thus, an extra 3.9 million UAH was paid from the local budget.
The court has chosen preventive measures for the suspects in the form of detention with the right to bail. Also, as part of the investigation, law enforcement officers are checking the legality of the actions of the supplier enterprises.
