Bochkala noted the unfavorable weather in Washington before the inauguration. However, his main interest was not the events in Ukraine, but the impact of these events on Ukraine.
The journalist believes that his visit to Washington allowed him to understand the attitude of the American political elite towards Ukraine. He also emphasizes the need for changes in bilateral relations between the countries.
Bochkala notes that Ukraine was mentioned positively several times during the prayer breakfast before the inauguration. This indicates that Ukraine continues to remain in the spotlight of American politicians.
The journalist also highlighted the importance of the traditional ball after the inauguration, where the directions of the new political strategy of the USA are discussed. Close supporters of Trump gathered here.
According to Bochkala, Republicans act very pragmatically and are interested in what they will receive in return for their support.
