Truck driver fatally hit a pedestrian in Vinnytsia region.


On Tuesday around 6 PM, an accident occurred on the M-30 highway in the village of Krasnopilka, Haisyn district. According to preliminary data, a 60-year-old driver of a Skania truck lost control and ran over a pedestrian who was on the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian, a 47-year-old resident of Krasnopilka, sustained fatal injuries.
The vehicle was placed in an impound lot. A criminal proceeding has been initiated for violating traffic safety rules if such violations led to death or serious bodily injury.
The penalty for this offense can be up to 8 years of imprisonment and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such a sanction. It is worth noting that a fatal traffic accident also recently occurred in Vinnytsia region when a driver lost control and crashed into a tree.
