'This will ensure transparency, accountability, and build trust - both from the public and international partners,' emphasized the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko. The National Energy and Climate Plan, approved in June 2024, aims to achieve climate neutrality and energy security according to European standards. It is focused on five areas: decarbonization, energy efficiency, energy security, integration of energy markets, and innovation development.
The role of the single online monitoring system in implementing the plan
One of the key outcomes of the meeting is the decision to create a single online monitoring system for the progress of the National Energy and Climate Plan. This platform will allow real-Time tracking of progress and will enhance transparency and effectiveness in the implementation of the plan. The first meeting of the interagency working group on monitoring the National Energy and Climate Plan paved the way for a more transparent and accountable realization of energy efficiency and environmental strategies in Ukraine. The presented data testify to Ukraine's successful steps in achieving the targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and developing renewable energy according to the National Energy and Climate Plan. The creation of a single online monitoring system is an important step towards increasing the effectiveness of implementation of the strategy and ensuring transparency in this process.Read also
