Ukraine may introduce e-hryvnia: when will the NBU launch the digital currency.

The NBU is preparing a pilot project for the implementation of e-hryvnia
The National Bank of Ukraine is preparing to introduce its own digital currency - e-hryvnia, announced Oleksiy Shaban, Deputy Head of the NBU. According to him, e-hryvnia will not replace cash and account money, but will be an additional option that can be used at will. Currently, the decision on the wide implementation of e-hryvnia has not yet been made, but preparations for the pilot project have already begun. The project is planned to be based on DLT technology involving real users and payment service providers. This will allow testing the functionality and efficiency of the programmability of e-hryvnia. E-hryvnia will be the digital equivalent of the hryvnia, its issuer will be the National Bank. With the introduction of e-hryvnia, it will become a legal means of payment in Ukraine and will exist in cashless form.
Interestingly, earlier an analyst explained the reason for the decline in demand for dollars in Ukraine.
