Ukrainians in Germany may have benefits cut: who is affected.

Ukrainian refugees in Germany were informed about the conditions for receiving financial assistance
The war in Ukraine has forced many people to seek refuge in other countries, particularly in Germany. Ukrainians in Germany receive financial assistance through employment centers. However, certain conditions must be met to receive this assistance.
If integration courses, a job offer, or employment seminars are refused, financial assistance may be reduced for different durations. Reductions in payments can range from 10% to 30%.
The employment center can also reduce payments in cases of missed appointments, unjustified dismissal from work, or providing false information about assets and income. In such situations, fines or even imprisonment may be imposed.
The amount of assistance depends on the status and composition of the family. For example, a family consisting of a mother and two children receives 1424 euros per month. Additionally, the employment center provides an extra amount for housing rent. In 2024, 707.8 thousand Ukrainians received Bürgergeld payments in Germany.
Austria has also simplified the employment procedure for Ukrainians.
