USA and Great Britain will extend the nuclear weapons cooperation pact — Media.

The United Kingdom and the USA plan to indefinitely extend the treaty that governs the exchange of technologies between their nuclear programs. This decision has been officially made by the governments of both countries and is now undergoing the legislative approval process. Previously, this treaty was limited to a 10-year term, but due to the threat of nuclear weapons proliferation from adversaries, the United Kingdom and the USA decided to extend its term indefinitely. This also aligns with the UN's warnings about a global nuclear arms race, triggered by Russia's war in Ukraine.
This decision was made after the UK, USA, and Australia signed the trilateral defense pact Aukus, aimed at countering China in the Indo-Pacific region with nuclear-powered attack submarines.
According to experts, the proposed extension of the treaty is a sign of increasingly dangerous times. It also has the added advantage for the United Kingdom, as it ensures the fulfillment of the treaty's provisions regardless of the future position of the US government.
