US to deliver more than half a thousand missiles to Ukraine for Patriot and NASAMS, - WSJ.
The United States of America plans to deliver more than 500 interceptor missiles for the Patriot missile defense systems and NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine within the next few weeks. This is reported by the media citing The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, this batch of military aid is intended to fully meet Ukraine's air defense needs by the end of the current year.
The Biden administration plans to expedite the delivery of military aid to Kyiv, aiming to complete most deliveries by January. Previously, deliveries were planned to be completed by April. This strategy aims to strengthen Ukraine's position in potential negotiations and enhance its defensive capabilities.
Currently, the Pentagon has over 7 billion US dollars allocated for the transfer of weapons and ammunition from its reserves to Ukraine. Additionally, more than 2 billion US dollars have been allocated to fund long-term contracts for the supply of military equipment to Kyiv.
Ukraine is also actively developing its own military industry and is creating missiles capable of reaching Moscow.
