U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that his department is not involved in any negotiations for Canada to become the 51st state of the U.S.
In an interview with Fox News, he noted that the U.S. is currently focused on another priority - imposing new tariffs. U.S. President Donald Trump considers trade with Canada unfair.
Obviously, this will affect our relations with them. But we remain neighbors and will always be neighbors - Rubio stated.
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump said he might use 'economic power' to make Canada the 51st state of the U.S. He also noted that he does not consider the use of military force for the hypothetical joining of Canada to the U.S.
