Ukrainian forces are defending against an attack from Russia. Russian troops used the Easter holiday to pave the way across water obstacles. They attempted to clear the crossing over the Black Zherebets River but encountered resistance from the Ukrainian army.
The fighters of the 66th Brigade published a video showing the Russians attempting to clear the road of destroyed engineering equipment. Previously, the equipment blocked the crossing over the Black Zherebets River and made it impossible for the Russians to advance using armored vehicles. On Sunday, April 20, the Russians tried to clear the crossing of the remains of destroyed equipment, deploying more than ten infantrymen and a special vehicle.
At the same Time, analysts explained why the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not respond to these actions.
The Defense Forces are trying to act exclusively in a mirrored manner, while the Russians are holding back from opening fire. This is an example of the 'use of opportunities' presented by this truce. The Russians do not shell areas where they understand that 'silence' is actively being used to prepare for an attack and move troops. After the truce ends, Russian soldiers will encounter significant resistance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian side announced a cessation of hostilities until April 21. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed Ukraine's readiness to join in the complete ceasefire and act in accordance with Russia.
The President also reported that Russia violated the truce. This morning explosions were heard in Kyiv. The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense and unpredictable.
