At the age of 92, American composer and producer Quincy Jones passed away. His death occurred on the evening of November 3 in Los Angeles, surrounded by family.
Jones - the producer of the album Thriller, which became Michael Jackson's best-selling album. He also worked with musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Dinah Washington, and performed with Duke Ellington, making him one of the most diverse figures in 20th-century pop culture.
Furthermore, Jones was known as a successful music author for many films and had numerous hits under his name. He led a jazz big band orchestra and arranged music for stars such as Count Basie. Additionally, his creative company founded the popular series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and other shows.
Quincy Jones also became the third person after Beyoncé and Jay-Z in terms of Grammy nominations - 80 against 88 for each.
In 1964, Jones became the first African-American to write music for a major Hollywood film. He was nominated for best music and song awards seven times but received recognition for outstanding individual contributions to humanitarianism. In the 90s, Jones was the head of a popular magazine about hip-hop culture, "Vibe".
Quincy Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received the National Medal of Arts from the United States. He is survived by six daughters and a son.
