Return of Markarova from the USA — Minister of Foreign Affairs Sybiga named the reasons.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga explained that the end of the diplomatic mission of Ukraine's ambassador to the USA, Oksana Markarova, is related to staff rotation, which he announced during a broadcast on Ukrainian radio.

Why staff rotation is important in the MFA

Andriy Sybiga expressed gratitude to Oksana Markarova for her contribution as a diplomat in the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Washington and called her one of the most successful Ukrainian representatives in the field of foreign policy.

The minister emphasized that the President of Ukraine plans to carry out the rotation of heads of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions and to submit about 20 relevant decrees to Volodymyr Zelensky. He noted that ambassadors must work for results and stay informed about modern realities, especially in the context of the ongoing war in the country.

Earlier, it was reported that during a phone conversation between the President of Ukraine and the leader of the United States, the replacement of the Ukrainian ambassador in America was discussed. Also, MP Sofia Fedyna expressed the opinion that Ukraine needs to urgently appoint a new ambassador to the USA due to the loss of Oksana Markarova's connections with key political players in the American government.

The end of the diplomatic mission of Ukraine's ambassador to the USA is explained by the rotation of staff in the MFA. Andriy Sybiga highly assessed Oksana Markarova's activities in the position and confirmed the president's intention to carry out the rotation of the heads of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions. However, some public figures and politicians express concerns about the loss of the Ukrainian ambassador's connections with American partners.
