Pensioners will have their work experience abroad taken into account: how it will affect pension amounts.

New procedure for retirement pension assignment based on work abroad
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new procedure that will allow periods of official work abroad to be counted for retirement pension assignment. This initiative applies to periods of work in countries with which Ukraine does not have corresponding international agreements.
According to the new procedure, work experience obtained abroad will be taken into account for retirement pension assignment based on official documents from the host country. Regarding the absence or insufficient information, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will seek confirmation from the competent authorities of the foreign state through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
'This decision is crucial for determining the right to assign a retirement pension, as it allows for the consideration of the entire period of labor activity of Ukrainians who officially worked outside our country. Thus, Ukraine acknowledges the contributions of its citizens who worked abroad, maintained connections with their homeland, and plan to return home or have already returned'— said the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Community Development, Alexei Chernyshov.
This decision is a step forward in updating the pension system and considering the needs of Ukrainians in the field of social protection.
