The regional court of Munich reported that the Russian who killed two Ukrainian soldiers in Murnau has been sentenced to life imprisonment. This was reported by the media, citing n-tv.
The convicted person has no possibility of early release as his crime is considered particularly serious.
They were acquainted with their Ukrainian colleagues who were undergoing rehabilitation in Murnau at a clinic. They would occasionally meet and drink together near a local supermarket. On the same day when the murder occurred, they also met, but then they had a dispute. The Russian went home, took a knife, and, when he returned, stabbed one of the Ukrainians and then the other. Both sustained serious injuries. One died before the medics arrived, while the other later died in the hospital.
At the beginning of the trial, the Russian admitted his guilt in the act. It turned out that at the Time of the murder, he was in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
German law enforcement officers soon arrested the Russian after the murder. He was placed under preventive custody.
In February 2024, another murder of a Ukrainian basketball player and his friend occurred in Germany.
