In Ternopil region, doctors will be tried because 18 patients went blind.


In the Ternopil region, a trial will take place over three doctors and the head of the ophthalmology department of the district hospital. According to the prosecution, due to their unscrupulous actions, 18 patients partially or completely lost their sight.
The investigation showed that the head of the department of one of the district hospitals in Ternopil was selling a drug prohibited in Ukraine to patients, which is not intended for the treatment of eyes.
From March 2022 to February 2023, three doctors of this department, under the direction of the head, administered this prohibited drug to patients. Each doctor received money for administering the drug, with amounts ranging from eight to 34 thousand hryvnias, law enforcement reports.
