Commander of the 110th Mechanized Brigade Serhiy Zakharov has died at the front.


Today, July 1, the commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after General-Horunzhyi Mark Bezruchko - Colonel Serhiy Zakharov - passed away at the front. This was reported by Brigadier General Serhiy Sobko, as informed by 'Glavkom'.
'Today, a warrior, a son, a husband, the father of three children, my friend - Serhiy Zakharov... You were the best among us when we were learning, the most talented. You were the best later on when we became officers. Mattis once said that there are two qualities he values most in leaders - aggressiveness and initiative. Oh, that is exactly about you. We have no brighter example of an officer with these two qualities.'
After graduating from the Odesa Institute of Land Forces, Zakharov headed the reconnaissance company in the 30th separate mechanized brigade. Later, he led the reconnaissance company of the 1st Tank Brigade, and since February 2025, he has headed the 110th separate mechanized brigade, previously serving as deputy commander of the 33rd mechanized brigade.

- Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi II degree (July 27, 2022) - for personal courage and selfless actions in defense of the state sovereignty of Ukraine and loyalty to the military oath.
- Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree (March 11, 2015) - for heroism in defense of state sovereignty and loyalty to the military oath during the war.
During the evacuation of the wounded, a warrior with the call sign Siberiak, named after his grandfather, a soldier of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, also died at the front. Also, choreographer Viktor Voynikov, who contributed to the development of dance art in Ukraine for over 20 years, lost his life on the front lines. He was conscripted for military service in 2023.
