The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for including convicts in military registration. Convicted Ukrainians who are mobilized into the army will serve in special units. The decision on mobilization will depend on the severity of the crime and the conclusion of the Military Medical Commission.
There are 27,000 individuals serving sentences in the form of restriction or imprisonment in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Justice, 20,000 convicted individuals can take advantage of the right to parole.
