Legendary Uruguayan footballer debuts at professional tennis tournament.

Diego Forlan debuts in professional tennis
The legendary Uruguayan national team footballer Diego Forlan is set to make his debut in professional tennis this November. He is known for his performances with teams like "Manchester United", "Atletico Madrid" and "Inter Milan". Forlan ended his football career in 2019, and in 2010 he was recognized as the best player of the World Cup, where he became the top scorer of the tournament and helped his national team reach the semifinals.
In his youth, Forlan played tennis, but it turned out to be his personal choice, and he chose football as his main sport. However, after ending his football career, Forlan continued to play in ITF veteran tournaments.
Now the footballer has decided to try his hand at professional tennis. He started training and participating in tennis competitions, where he began defeating major players.
In Montevideo, Forlan will compete in doubles with Argentine Federico Coria. It is worth noting that Forlan is not the first footballer to try his hand at professional tennis after retirement. In 2017, Paolo Maldini, the Italian national team and "Milan" defender, did the same.
The ATP Challenger Tour tournament in Montevideo will take place from November 11 to 17, with a prize fund of $133.25 thousand.
Recall, the Ukrainian doubles duo of Oleksii Krutykh and Vitalii Sachko won the ATP Challenger tournament in Olbia, Italy.
