The Commander of the Swiss Army has voiced the condition for the participation of troops in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.

Switzerland is ready to participate in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine
The Commander-in-Chief of the Swiss Armed Forces, Thomas Süssli, stated that his country is ready to take part in a peacekeeping operation in Ukraine. He noted that Switzerland can send up to 200 servicemen for a period of 9 to 12 months.
Süssli emphasized that the discussions are currently only hypothetical, as the further development of the conflict remains uncertain. At the same Time, he noted that the UN has not sent a request regarding such a mission.
'There is still no peace, and there has been no request from the UN,' Süssli stated.
However, the decision on the participation of the Swiss contingent will require approval from the government and parliament of the country. Switzerland has experience in participating in peacekeeping operations, notably, the largest number of its military is part of NATO forces in Kosovo (KFOR).
Meanwhile, European countries continue to discuss the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
