China responded to the tightening of export controls by the US.

China will ban shipments to the US of goods used in the production of semiconductors and for military purposes
China reacted to the new trade restrictions imposed by the US against Chinese technology companies. China has banned shipments to the US of goods related to gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials, and has also tightened controls on goods related to graphite. All these materials are used in the production of semiconductors and for military purposes, including the manufacture of ammunition.
According to the new trade restrictions of the US, many Chinese technology companies fall under export control, slowing down the development of China's semiconductor industry. The export of high-capacity memory chips to China has also been restricted.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce called these restrictions 'a typical act of economic coercion and uncompetitive practices.'
The US is expanding the list of companies that fall under export control as President Joe Biden's administration promotes the expansion of semiconductor manufacturing in the country to ensure national security. Adding companies to the list means that any American company attempting to do business with them will be denied export licenses.
According to a representative of the US Department of Commerce, these restrictions complicate China's military modernization and its weapons of mass destruction programs.
