Cyberattacks and Vision Impairments. The University Responded to the Complaint Regarding Usyk's Dissertation.

The Kharkiv National University responded to the complaint of activists regarding Alexander Usyk's dissertation. This information was published on the 'Glavkom' website.
The organization 'Red Lip' filed a complaint about the boxer's dissertation. There were doubts regarding possible hints that Usyk might have received during the defense of his work.
The inaccurate and sometimes erroneous announcement by the dissertation candidate of certain terms and other categories during the performance, as well as responses to the remarks of reviewers and official opponents, was mainly related to temporary vision impairments of the candidate due to nervousness, and not to his poor preparation.
The University claims that Usyk logically and reasonably answered the questions and did not use hints, as stated in the complaint.
It is worth noting that Usyk received a PhD degree in law. The topic of his dissertation is 'Administrative and Legal Support for International Cooperation in the Field of Physical Culture and Sports'.
Moreover, the HNUVS explained that some scientific articles mentioned in the dissertation may only be known in connection with cyberattacks on the journal servers. Therefore, this is not a reason to overturn the decision on awarding the scientific degree.
Thus, the university sees no grounds for annulment of Usyk's scientific degree.
