Existing tax conditions restrict the construction of wind energy in Ukraine – investors.

The Director of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA), Anastasia Vereshchinska, stated that investors wishing to build wind power plants in Ukraine do not receive tax incentives that would contribute to the active development of wind energy.
According to her, the legislative changes made in 2024 exempted certain types of energy equipment from VAT and import duties. However, these changes do not apply to the majority of wind energy equipment. Vereshchinska expressed surprise at such restrictions, especially considering that wind energy is one of the most active technology developments in the coming years.
Wind energy is the most promising technology among all renewable energy sources, as it can generate electricity both during the day and at night, in summer and winter. In winter, in particular, wind generation is even stronger, which is beneficial for the energy system, Vereshchinska explained.
The director is confident that this issue will be resolved and wind energy will receive the necessary tax incentives for its development.
The head of the board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, Andriy Konechenkov, expressed the opinion that the future of wind energy in Ukraine entirely depends on the parliament's decision on the draft law providing tax incentives for the import of equipment for wind power plants. Another positive signal for the wind energy sector is the active construction of solar power plants, energy storage systems, and gas-piston stations.
