General Staff: 110 clashes occurred during the day, the hottest on the Pokrovske direction.


Ukrainian military continue to hold back the advance of Russian occupiers in all directions.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of August 21, 2024, 110 clashes had already taken place. The most tense situation remains in the Pokrovske direction.
During the day, Russian invaders launched one missile strike and 76 airstrikes, dropping 100 guided aerial bombs. They also carried out more than three thousand shellings on Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked the defense lines near Lyptsi and Vovchansk five times. In the Kupyansk direction there were 16 clashes. The Lyman direction underwent 17 attacks, the Siversk direction - one, the Kramatorsk direction - six, the Toretsk direction - five.
The highest activity was observed in the Pokrovske direction, where 46 battles took place. Preliminary data indicate that Ukrainian military neutralized 238 occupiers, destroyed an armored combat vehicle, an anti-tank missile system, and a vehicle, as well as damaged a tank, five artillery systems, and another armored combat vehicle.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 13 times. In the Vremivka, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovske directions, there were no active hostilities, but airstrikes and shelling continue.
The General Staff noted the effective actions of the soldiers of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, who inflict significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment.
