Heads of EU states call for enhanced military support for Ukraine
Leaders of the European Union countries called on other EU nations to immediately increase military support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. In particular, they urged to expedite the delivery of air defense systems, ammunition, and missiles, as well as provide military equipment to new Ukrainian brigades.
The conclusions of the European Council state: 'The European Council called for greater efforts to assist Ukraine in effectively defending against Russian aggression. This includes the delivery of air defense systems, ammunition, and missiles, as well as providing training and equipment for Ukrainian brigades.'
EU leaders also emphasized the importance of supporting and developing Ukraine's defense industry and cooperating with the European Union's defense industry.
They also called for the implementation of the G7 initiative to accelerate funding for Ukraine and to activate the EU Military Advisory Mission for Ukraine. In addition, the European Council condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine and supported the independence and territorial integrity of the country.
In conclusion, the European Council reaffirmed its support for restoring peace in Ukraine based on the UN Charter and international law, using key provisions of the 'Peace Formula'.
