Is it worth buying a used second-generation Kia Ceed.

The second-generation Kia Ceed attracts with its stylish design, comfortable interior, competitive price, and quality and variety of engines and trims. However, some owners point to the small trunk volume in the hatchback version and average sound insulation at high speeds as potential drawbacks.
AutoSvity talked about the technical specifications of the used Kia Ceed.
Second generation (2012-2018)
The updated Kia Ceed of 2012 became more European but retained the strong points of its predecessor, although the technical innovations were quite mild: the platform changed from J4 to J5, but the wheelbase and suspension schemes remained the same.
In 2015, the car underwent a small facelift, slightly altering the optics and bumpers while adding a new engine with direct injection.
Body strength
Cars from the Kia Ceed (2012-2018) range that are up to 10 years old generally maintain well and are almost immune to rust, so serious bodywork is usually not needed. However, the sills should definitely be checked, especially from underneath where the seams are, as the car can get damaged from curbs.
The bumpers have weak mounts that are easily damaged even in minor contacts. When replacing minimal gaps, the bumper can easily start rubbing the paint at the joints with the wings.
Among the minor issues, one can highlight paint scuffs in the door openings due to the seals, as well as possible peeling of the door handles and roof rails.
Braking system
The brakes on the Ceed are simple, with single-piston mechanisms. The front disc brakes are 280 mm for most versions, 320 mm for more powerful models. At the rear, there are non-ventilated discs: 262 mm with a mechanical brake or 284 mm with an electromechanical one.
The base manual brake has a drum design, while the electric one has flat discs under the calipers. The electromechanical system requires the installation of an expensive control unit for the rear axle, and the button instead of the lever is available only in more expensive trims.
The article describes the main advantages and disadvantages of the second-generation Kia Ceed, including stylish design, comfortable interior, and issues with the operation of some car systems. It also provides information on the technical features of the car, body strength, and braking system. Owner reviews and expert insights will help potential buyers make an informed decision regarding the purchase of this vehicle.
