"This is just a scandal": Kulpa revealed the problem with air defense at NATO borders.

Any threats towards the countries of NATO's eastern flank should be stopped, and the fact that drones launched from Russia are still not being shot down over the territories of Alliance members — is a disgrace, said former Polish government member, ex-secretary of the Polish delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Piotr Kulpa.
"I believe it is a disgrace that such a system is still not working. This should apply not only to drones but also to any threats that simply go towards the countries of NATO's eastern flank. It seems to me that the fact Poland, for example, is a NATO member, ties our hands significantly in this matter. It turned out that missiles arrived on Polish territory, and we found out about it from President Biden. So here, I definitely think there should be a decision with the support primarily from the United States. I think it would suffice to untie the hands of countries like Poland and Romania",
he said on the FREEДОМ TV channel.
Kulpa believes that if all objects directed towards Poland and Romania were shot down, it would at least create a 'umbrella level' over part of Ukraine's territory. At the same Time, he acknowledged that it concerns limited forces, as there are more Patriot systems in Ukraine than in Poland or Romania.
"So we also need to consider how effective it would be. As a principle, I believe that, first of all, the issue is that Poland, Romania, and allies present on our territories should be able to shoot down hostile objects, — this is the first point, equivalent to untying Ukraine's hands to use the weapons it has to break the enemy approaching its borders. That's just a scandal for me that it still hasn't happened",
