British intelligence analyzed Russia's advance after the capture of Vuhledar.

The Russian army continues its offensive on the eastern flank of Velyka Novosilka after capturing Vuhledar. This became possible due to the losses suffered by the Ukrainian army.
The stronghold of Velyka Novosilka became vulnerable to Russian attacks after the loss of Vuhledar in early October 2024. This allowed the Russians to strengthen their offensive in less protected areas of western Donetsk region.
«Velyka Novosilka is now vulnerable to Russian attacks due to the loss of Vuhledar, located 30 km east, in early October 2024. This allowed the Russians to intensify their advance into less protected areas in the western Donetsk region,» reports the British Ministry of Defense.
The Russian army is approaching the main logistical routes leading to the city, thereby threatening the Ukrainian defense.
Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Maksym Zhorin, warned that preparations need to be made for the defense of the Dnipropetrovsk region starting today.
It has also become known that Russian troops continue to advance in several directions and have already settled in houses in Vuhledar.
In Donetsk region, near Selidove, Russian occupiers committed another war crime by shooting two captured Ukrainian soldiers.
